SNAS conducted the 5th episode of the webinar series titled “Oil and Gas Upstream Operations and Where Naval Architects Can Fit” on 18th June 2021. The lead speaker of the event was Mr. Devi Prasad Velapilli (13th Batch Alumnus DoST), Director, Green palm group, Dubai. The webinar was very interactive and it covered many interesting topics such as the procedure of installation of oil rigs i.e. designing of structure based on the depth, major procedure in making a floating oil rig etc. He also gave some insights on the necessary skills for naval architects to enter the field of oil and gas.
