Dept. of Ship Technology: Show cased the innovations for future

‘Shastrayaan' - Event witnessed clerisy of budding naval architects hand crafted innovations that would revolutionise future maritime industry. Dept. proved its sumptuous history of contributions towards society to be continued through its upcoming ideas and ongoing research.

Working Model
          
Among a multitude of display items, Dept. of Ship Technology show cased a ‘go-green’, economic and easy made boat that got media attention across city. The boat was entirely made buoyant using a heap of plastic bottles that lay as a burden to environment.  The boat, just made out of plywood and plastic bottles costs around RS 1500 –made it highly unique from the market ideas displayed in the event which required huge capital investments.

Still Models and illustrations
            Dept. also show cased ship models made by students in the model making lab, the images of different class ships were illustrated along with.
Apart from working and still models, numerous posters that gave glimpse into ongoing research works in the Dept. was yet another depot of attraction for the curious crowd hovered in the event

An Exclusive Video on activities of Dept. of Ship Technology was projected in a LCD Monitor along with video depicting the manufacturing technique of displayed working models

Congratulations to the winners of the SNAS IPL FEVER 2021!!! The SNAS Sports Club's Inauguration & IPL FEVER 2021 prize distribution ceremony was conducted on May 16th (Sunday). The chief guest for the event was Mr. Dijoy Divakaran (26th batch alumnus DoST,  also Mentor-MAST Cricket Team). The event was conducted via virtual meeting application. Computer Aided Design and 3D Printing

SNAS Software club is conducting eight-hour training programme on Computer Aided Design. Following topics are expected to cover in the programme. 2D Drafting 3D Modelling Drafting techniques for ship design Introduction to 3D printing The training programme is free and is only for students of Dept. of Ship Technology. The training programme is aimed at equipping students with software skills that will enable them to face industrial world confidently. Special emphasis on 3D modelling of ships is expected to produce innovative designs and models from Model Making Workshops during course curriculum. The classes are led by student members of SNAS who have undergone similar training and certification.

WEBINAR - "Design of Underwater Vehicles"

  SNAS conducted the 9th episode of the Webinar Series on the topic "Design of Underwater Vehicles" on 20th of October, 2021. The Webinar was taken by Cmde PHM Salih (Retd.) , (3rd Batch Alumnus of DoST), Head Submarine Design, L&T Defence and Aerospace. The interactive session dealt with Submarine Designing and various parameters to be considered in designing an Underwater Vehicle. An elaborate QnA session was held after the presentation, clarifying the doubts of the audience on various insights shared during the webinar.
